CSHP and Dr. Dennis Fortenberry are Recognized by the World Association for Sexual Health

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

The Center for Sexual Health Promotion is proud to announce that we were honored with an Award for Excellence and Innovation in Sexuality Education by the World Association for Sexual Health during their Biennial Congress held October 12-15, 2019.

The Awards for Excellence & Innovation in Sexuality Education recognize "the special contribution sexuality educators make to the overall fields of education, health and sexology. They are presented in three categories: (A) Non-Government Organizations or Individuals; (B) Academic Programmes; (C) Governmental and Government-sponsored Programmes.”

The award was given to the CSHP in recognition of our successful history of graduate student training in sexual health research, our graduate certificate in sexual reproductive health, among other education, training, and research accomplishments. The award was accepted by Drs. Debby Herbenick and Dennis Fortenberry at the meeting in Mexico City.

Dennis Fortenberry was awarded the Gold Medal, also accepted in Mexico City, and described by the WAS as "the most prestigious individual honour of the World Association for Sexual Health. A maximum of five Gold Medals are awarded at the WAS Biennial Congress.” Join us in congratulating Dr. Fortenberry!
