CSHP Doctoral Student Awarded ASTDA Grant

Friday, May 17, 2024

Jeff Grant, a doctoral student with the Center for Sexual Health Promotion, was recently awarded funding from the American Sexually Transmitted Disease Association (ASTDA). The award is for the project “Exploring MSM Adult Content Creators’ Sexual Health Behaviors and Their Role in Sexual Health Communication.”

The ASTDA Summer Fellowship provides financial assistance for students to conduct a mentored research project dedicated to STI and sexual health. Drs. Debby Herbenick and Hank Green will provide mentorship throughout the project.

The goal of the project is to learn how adult content creators are approaching, managing, and discussing their sexual health and wellness. Additionally, he would like to see how and to what capacity these adult content creators are functioning in terms of their sexual health. These individuals may be great resources for sexual health campaigns, and he hopes this research and project will inform public health and sexual behavior research!
