The Center for Sexual Health Promotion is excited to share the news of a new graduate-level course offering focusing on sexual wellness and disability, taught by our very own Dr. Jen Piatt.
SPH-R 550: Sexual Wellness and Disability will provide an overview on sexual health within the context of living with a disability. Content will cover a wide range of sexual health and disability issues, as well as how to facilitate a sexual health educational or therapeutic session. This interactive course will provide opportunities to discuss a topic that has been under addressed within sexual health as well as health care practices for people with disabilities.
This course is scheduled to be offered during the Spring 2022 semester on Tuesday’s from 7:30-9:30 PM ET and will take place online through live and recorded lectures.
This course will fit nicely in as an elective for the online Graduate Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health offered through the School of Public Health, in the Department of Applied Health Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. We are continuing to examine our course offerings, specifically around diversity, equity, and inclusion so that we can best meet the needs of our students. For more information about the course, contact Dr. Jen Piatt at jenpiatt@indiana.edu and for more information about the Graduate Certificate, please contact Dr. Heather Eastman-Mueller at heastman@indiana.edu.
